Spencer T. Smith, AIF®

Analyst

Spencer Smith serves as an Analyst with Financial Management, Inc. (FMI), where he is involved in the firm’s portfolio management, trading, and investment research initiatives. His responsibilities include implementing FMI’s investment strategies across private and institutional mandates, overseeing trading operations, and guiding the design of retirement plan investment structures. Spencer is a member of the FMI Investment Council, which provides oversight and direction for the firm’s research and asset allocation framework.

Prior to joining FMI, Spencer gained experience in fixed income trading and securities underwriting through internships with Crews & Associates, the investment banking division of First Security Bancorp. This experience afforded him a disciplined foundation in debt capital markets and structured finance.

Spencer is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) in association with the Center for Fiduciary Studies in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Arkansas and is presently pursuing a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Oklahoma. He holds the Series 65 investment adviser license, conferred by the North American Securities Administrators Association.

Away from the office, Spencer enjoys time with family and friends, travel, and the outdoors. Among his favorite places is Telluride, Colorado, prized for its quiet beauty and the serenity of the surrounding San Juan Mountains.
